Plagiarism Policy

The Research of Medical Science Review (RMSR) upholds the highest standards of ethical conduct and academic integrity. We are committed to publishing original and authentic research findings, and we take plagiarism very seriously. This policy outlines our expectations for authors and the consequences of violating these expectations.

1. Definition of Plagiarism:

Plagiarism is the act of using another person's work or ideas as your own, without proper citation or attribution. This includes:

  • Copying text verbatim from another source, even with quotation marks, without proper citation.
  • Paraphrasing text from another source without sufficiently changing the language or structure, and without proper citation.
  • Presenting someone else's ideas or concepts as your own, even if you do not use their exact words.
  • Self-plagiarism, which occurs when you reuse significant portions of your own previously published work without proper citation.

2. Consequences of Plagiarism:

Any manuscript found to contain plagiarism will be subject to the following consequences, depending on the severity of the offense:

  • Minor plagiarism: The author will be required to revise the manuscript, properly cite the sources, and resubmit it.
  • Intermediate plagiarism: The manuscript will be rejected, and the author may be prohibited from submitting to RMSR for a specified period.
  • Extensive plagiarism: The manuscript will be rejected, and the author may be prohibited from submitting to RMSR for a significant period or permanently.
  • Plagiarism after publication: RMSR may retract the published article, notify the author's institution, and inform relevant stakeholders.

3. Detection of Plagiarism:

RMSR uses plagiarism detection software to screen all submitted manuscripts. We also reserve the right to conduct additional investigations to verify the originality of the work.

4. Author Responsibilities:

It is the author's responsibility to ensure that their manuscript is original and free from plagiarism. Authors should:

  • Carefully paraphrase any borrowed material and provide proper citations, using a recognized citation style guide.
  • Obtain permission from the copyright holder before using any copyrighted material.
  • Be aware of and avoid self-plagiarism.
  • Disclose any potential conflicts of interest.
